Aris Antoniades’ Toccata & Fugue Performed at St. John the Divine in NYC

Composer Aris Antoniades with Organist Shannon Murphy

It truly was a great honor and joy to hear my music performed so beautifully by Shannon Murphy on the iconic Grand Organ at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York last Sunday, March 24th, 2019. Thank you, Shannon, for your awesome performance!

We were extremely honored to have some great musicians in the audience, including: Dr. J. Mark Stambaugh, Chair of the Composition Department at Manhattan School of Music; Maestro Kent Tritle, acclaimed conductor, director of Church Music at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and organist of the New York Philharmonic; renowned organist Walter Hilse; as well as the remarkable soprano Jessye Norman.

I would also like to extend my thanks to all my friends and colleagues who came to the concert - it was great to see so many familiar faces!

Finally, a big thank you to Eleni Sakellis, from the National Herald, for her lovely review which you can read HERE.

A recording of the performance will be available soon. Photos from the event can be viewed below.
