Nostos is the Greek word used to describe one's homecoming. I thought it would be an appropriate title for this piece, since the work is heavily influenced by some of the Greek folk rhythms and idioms that I grew up with in my homeland, Cyprus. These folkloric elements provide an integral part of my musical identity and continue to inspire me.The work is divided into three movements, the first and third movements are written for Alto Sax. and Piano, while the second movement is written for Soprano Sax. and Piano.
