In celebration of the magnificent Great Organ at St. John the Divine, the Cathedral presents organist Shannon Murphy. Ms. Murphy will open her program with my Toccata & Fugue for Organ - a piece that she co-commissioned and premiered earlier this year.
The recital will take place on Sunday March 24, 2019 at 4:45pm (EST) and will also include works by J.S.Bach, Gustav Holst, Jean Langlais and Marcel Dupré.
I am extremely honored and grateful to have my piece performed in such a magnificent space, and by an extremely talented young organist, such as Ms. Murphy.
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is the fifth largest Christian cathedral in the world, and hosts one of the most powerful organs around the globe.
